ARAWC is taking measured steps to assess the feasibility of a responsible alternative to workers’ compensation in the state of Florida. Enactment of such a measure would enable Florida employers to choose a workers’ compensation alternative to help drive improvements in costs and medical outcomes.
As part of this effort, we are gathering data to quantify performance differences between an employer’s Texas Injury Benefit Plan and their Florida workers’ compensation experience.
Specifically, ARAWC seeks the following:
-
Average Incurred Cost
-
Average Claim Duration (if available, by Medical Only, Lost Time and Combined)
-
Average Litigation Rates (that is, the claims involving an attorney letter of representation as a percentage of total claims)
The data should address your most recent five-year period and exclude “report only” claims.
We are looking for ARAWC members and other employers willing to provide this type of data. The information provided will be aggregated with other participating employers and kept confidential.
If you are willing to add to ARAWC’s data collection effort or would like to help us explore the feasibility of a Florida workers’ compensation alternative in any other way, please reach out to ARAWC at info@arawc.org.
